Sales of new electric vehicles in Russia decreased by 28% in May 2025. 786 cars were bought this month, which is 7 fewer than in April. This was reported by Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency.
In May, 786 electric vehicles were sold in Russia. This is 28% less than in May 2024 (1096 units). Let me remind you that electric car sales in April were slightly higher than in May (793 units).
In May 2025, the most popular brand of electric vehicles in Russia was Zeekr from China, with 263 units sold. The Russian Evolute ranked second in popularity with a result of 115 units. The Chinese brand Avatr took third place with 60 units. The top five also included Geely from China with 54 units and BYD from China with 43 units.
The list of the most popular models on the market is led by Zeekr 001 and Evolute i-Pro, which were sold in quantities of 126 and 111 units, respectively. Geely EX5 and Zeekr 009 share the third place with an equal result of 51 units sold. Zeekr 7x closes the list, with 48 units sold.
By 2030, the production of electric and hybrid vehicles in Russia should increase almost sevenfold. This is stated in the unified plan to achieve the national development goals of our country.
