Производитель консервных банок из России взыскал 7,5 млн евро с австрийской компании

The plant did not receive the prepaid products from Europe and secured a refund of the advance payment

Silgan Metal Packaging Enem, a company from the Adygea settlement of Enem, has won a case against the Austrian company Silgan Holdings Austria to recover the advance payment made for tinplate used in the production of metal food packaging.

In a ruling dated May 30, the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Adygea recognized the Russian party's claims as legitimate and granted the claim in full. The Austrian party must now repay the debt with interest, totaling approximately €7.5 million.

At the time of the transaction in October 2022, 100% of the authorized capital of Silgan Metal Packaging Enem belonged to a company within the Silgan holding, Silgan Metal Packaging Mietterdorf GmbH. After receiving the advance payment under the contract, the Russian entity's funds were blocked in the EU.
