Проект «УралАгроДрон» для цифровизации сельского хозяйства запускают в Уральском ГАУ

Unmanned aerial vehicles will help improve the efficiency of field cultivation in the Sverdlovsk region

The Ural State Agrarian University (Ural State Agrarian University) has launched the «UralAgroDron» project. It includes the use of drones for the cultivation of agricultural land. The use of drones will reduce labor costs.

As part of the project, a student pilot squad will be created on the basis of the new «Uralagrodron» enterprise. Its participants will provide crop care services for agricultural producers in the Sverdlovsk region. According to Mikhail Karpukhin, Vice-Rector of the Ural State Agrarian University, this project will be an important step towards modernizing agriculture in the region.

Before starting work with drones, it will be necessary to conduct a preliminary scan of the fields using a mapping drone. The process takes up to two hours and allows you to create a 3D model of the area.

Modern XAG agrodrones will be used for field cultivation, which are considered one of the best in their class. The devices are capable of spraying fertilizers and plant protection products. The use of such technologies allows you to accurately distribute substances, which reduces their consumption and minimizes the negative impact on nature. For example, water savings can reach 90%, and fertilizer consumption up to 30%.

Drone operators will control drones and calculate the required consumption of fertilizers for various crops. Students and teachers of the university also plan to participate in field tests and experiments on the use of digital technologies in agronomy.

The development of digital assistants in agriculture is a priority supported by the national project «Unmanned Aircraft Systems». Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut previously noted that the widespread use of agro-drones will help reduce costs and increase yields.
