Заводы получат вятское оборудование: пять предприятий вошли в станкостроительный кластер Ульяновской области

Cluster members will focus on producing import-substituted components for machine tools

The "Stankostroitel" industrial cluster has been officially launched in Ulyanovsk, uniting five key enterprises of the region: "Ulyanovsk Machine Tool Plant", "Ulyanovsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant", "FREST", "Legato", and "PasCom".

The initiative was approved at a regional headquarters meeting led by Governor Alexey Russkikh. The cluster's goal is cooperation to localize the production of machine tools and components, reducing dependence on imports.

The key task for participants is to establish the production of components for modern machine tools that were previously purchased abroad. The "Ulyanovsk Machine Tool Plant", which was relaunched in 2024 after the departure of the German-Japanese concern DMG MORI, will become the main customer. The enterprise has resumed the production of turning and milling machines and is now preparing to produce gantry models. The "Heavy Machine Tool Plant" has already begun developing technical solutions in cooperation with partners.

The cluster has joined the national project "Means of Production and Automation", initiated by the president. Ulyanovsk State Technical University (UlSTU) will train personnel and participate in R&D. The region's Industrial Development Center has signed an agreement to support enterprises in obtaining funding — up to 3 trillion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for technological re-equipment until 2030.
