The strategic aircraft has replenished its ammunition at one of the airfields

Footage has emerged online showing the process of loading Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles onto the pylons of a Tu-95MS missile-carrying bomber at one of the military airfields.

Apparently, one of the satellites managed to capture the procedure. The Tu-95MS can carry up to 8 Kh-101 missiles on external hardpoints. In addition, it can carry up to 6 Kh-55/555 missiles on internal hardpoints.

The Tu-95 (NATO classification: Bear) is a Russian bomber-missile carrier designed to engage important targets in remote military-geographical areas and in the deep rear of continental theaters of war.

In addition to the Kh-101 missiles, the armament includes two 23 mm cannons. The Tu-95 is a strategic nuclear weapons carrier.

Preliminary characteristics of the Kh-101:

  • Length — 7.45 m
  • Launch weight — up to 2400 kg
  • Maximum range — 5500 km
  • Accuracy (circular error probable) — up to 20 m

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the SJ-100 aircraft flew with the PD-8 engines turned off at a great altitude: the UAC revealed the meaning of the experiment.
