From 2025, Motorinvest's plant in Lipetsk will begin small-scale assembly of Evolute electric vehicles, including body welding and painting stages. This will increase the share of Russian components in production, according to Vasily Chebotarev, head of special projects at the company.
The transition from large-scale (SKD) to small-scale assembly involves deep integration of local production processes. Body welding is performed using robotic lines, ensuring precise joints, and painting is carried out in multi-layer chambers using environmentally friendly materials. Currently, Russian-developed motor-reducers and drive systems, as well as batteries from SAE, are being tested, which will reduce dependence on imported supplies.
By 2032, Motorinvest plans to reach 5,000 localization points — a metric reflecting the share of domestic components in the final product. In the coming years, plastic parts, rubber products, and electric motors for the i-JOY model will be localized. This aligns with the import substitution strategy aimed at creating closed production chains.
The company produces five vehicles under the Evolute brand, namely: the electric i-PRO (sedan), i-JOY, i-JET, i-SKY (crossovers), and the hybrid i-SPACE (crossover).
