UAZ is localizing the production of a new 2.0-liter gasoline engine and transfer case for UAZs in Russia. This was announced by a representative of the Sollers group at the IMAF forum.
The engine is designed for the large frame SUV Sollers ST9. The car is planned to be presented by the end of this year. The source for the new engine will be the unit of the Chinese company JAC.
Production of the new transfer case will begin in July at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant. This unit is also based on the Chinese "transfer case" from JAC cars.
In parallel, UAZ has started a major modernization of production. Currently, the company is completing the installation of a modern laser cutting complex for parts of the UAZ "Pickup" and UAZ "Profi" models with a double cab.
