Medium-duty trucks "Valdai 8" are now equipped with a modernized G51B turbodiesel engine that meets the Euro-5 environmental standard.
The engine's power is 149.6 hp, and the torque is 420 N·m. The transition to the new standard was achieved through the introduction of an electronically controlled turbocharger, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, a catalytic converter, and a diesel particulate filter.
Despite the increase in the environmental class, operating costs have not increased: a urea injection system (AdBlue) is not used. The engine has retained the advantages of previous models, including low noise levels, light weight, and high strength due to the cast-iron cylinder block and forged steel crankshaft.
Sales of the updated "Valdai 8" with the G51B engine started in October 2024. The base price starts from 3.6 million rubles, depending on the configuration.
