The waste-to-energy plant "RT-Invest" (part of the Rostec Group) in Svistyagino has begun supplying power to the wholesale electricity market, the state corporation's press service reported.
Since May 2025, the RT-Invest waste-to-energy plant has been included in the register of qualified generating facilities. This right was obtained after passing a number of mandatory procedures and relevant confirmations, such as certification of generating equipment and qualification of the plant as a facility operating on the basis of renewable energy sources.
The plant was launched at the end of December 2024. Since its commissioning, the waste-to-energy TPP has utilized 150,000 tons of waste that is not suitable for recycling.
The plant processes about 2,000 tons of waste daily. RT-Invest plans to launch three more plants in the Moscow region and one in Tatarstan by 2027. As a result of the operation of the five power plants, it is planned to produce more than 2.2 million MWh of energy per year.
The waste processing capacity of the enterprise is 700,000 tons/year. The capacity of the TPP is 70 MW.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the domestic turbine of Rostec as part of the "Udarnaya" TPP started operating at maximum capacity.
