"Like at a shooting range": An effective way to destroy naval BEC kamikaze drones has been named

Aviahub: Su-34 fighters destroyed naval drones with RBK-500 SHOAB-0.5 cluster bombs

Su-34 fighter-bombers of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia destroyed Ukrainian naval drones with cluster bombs. This was reported by the Aviahub Telegram channel.

It is claimed that the aircraft began to sink multi-purpose unmanned surface vehicles (MBEC) "like at a training range."

For this, ammunition of the RBK-500 SHOAB-0.5 type was used - a single bomb cassette with a ball fragmentation aerial bomb.

Main characteristics of the SHOAB-0.5 aerial bomb:

  • Case diameter — 60 mm
  • Diameter along the tides — 71 mm
  • Weight of the equipped aerial bomb — 417 g
  • Weight of equipment (TG-30/70) — 70 g
  • Weight of detonator charge — 3 g
  • Number of fragmentation elements (steel balls) — 304
  • Diameter of a steel ball — 5.5 mm
  • Weight of a steel ball — 0.68 g
  • Type of fuse — impact-inertial AV-281

Also, SKAT 350 M unmanned reconnaissance aircraft from the Kalashnikov concern began to be used to detect unmanned boats (BEC) in the Black Sea and to guide strike FPV drones at them. The drone is designed for round-the-clock aerial surveillance, searching for targets in the optical and IR ranges.
