First train arrives at Stolbovo electric depot: Moscow Metro expands its borders

The train followed the new branch line from the Novomoskovskaya station

The Stolbovo electric depot, which is actively under construction in Moscow, has received its first metro train – an important step in preparing the facility for full operation. The train followed the new connecting line from the Novomoskovskaya station to the maintenance and repair building, where gauge checks and rail rolling were carried out.

The complex has more than 30 buildings and structures, including the largest – a building for overnight parking, repair and washing of trains, designed to serve up to 10 thousand trains per year. Currently, the installation of utilities and finishing works are being completed at the facility.

The electric depot will service trains of the Sokolnicheskaya and under-construction Troitskaya lines, for which a separate depot is planned in the future. Thus, the Stolbovo project will significantly strengthen the infrastructure of the Moscow Metro, improving logistics and the regularity of train traffic.
