For the 80th anniversary of Victory, Russian Railways has prepared a special surprise — locomotives 3TE28 and EP2K have received unique festive "uniforms." Specifically for the celebration, diesel locomotive 3TE28-80 in a new livery will make a transcontinental run from the factory to the Tynda depot.
The main event will be the large-scale "Victory Train" campaign. The historical rolling stock prepared for the campaign includes 29 steam locomotives of various series. They will travel on 20 special routes, passing through 15 railways of Russia.
Particular attention was drawn to the 3TE28 and EP2K locomotives, which received individual festive colors. One of them — diesel locomotive 3TE28-80 — will make a special journey across the country. It will be the first among the machines of its series to travel from the factory to Tynda, Amur Region.
