AvtoVAZ continues to refine the updated Lada Niva Travel model. The car will be longer than the current version.
The main changes will affect the rear of the car. The manufacturer will increase the overhang, which will expand the luggage space, and the swing door at the rear will be replaced with a lifting door. The spare wheel will be moved from the door to a special compartment under the floor. There are no plans to change the wheelbase in order to maintain the basic characteristics of the platform.
Special attention in the project is paid to the modernization of electronics. Lada Niva Travel is planned to be transferred to the architecture used in Lada Vesta. This will allow the SUV to be supplemented with new functions.
The update will also affect the interior. The interior will be redesigned with an emphasis on quality and design, similar to Lada Vesta.
The release of a radically updated model with a new name is scheduled for 2027. However, the deadlines may be pushed back, as this project is not a priority for AvtoVAZ.
