The Kolomna plant (part of TMH-Energetic Solutions) has equipped the TE26 locomotive with an 18-9DGM-02 diesel generator.
The 18-9DGM-02 diesel generator is a modification of the serial 18-9DGM with a new traction unit that provides power to passenger cars. Additionally, at the request of the locomotive developer, the TMH Engine Building Engineering Center made certain changes to the engine layout; the location of the electronic control units was changed to accommodate additional locomotive equipment. The engine power remained the same at 2850/3100 kW.
The 18-9DGM-02 diesel generator consists of 100% domestically produced components. The unit passed testing in early April this year.
TE26 is a universal freight and passenger locomotive that is under development. The model will replace analogues M62, 2M62 and 3M62 produced by the Lugansk Locomotive Plant.
Locomotives of this class often drive economic trains designed to transport people and goods over short distances. TE26 will be put into operation in 2026.
