VK Company has introduced a new feature for its cloud service — now users can upload an unlimited number of photos and videos directly from their smartphone without using paid storage space. The new feature is available to all owners of tariffs from 256 GB with a Mail Space subscription.
The principle of operation of the new function is extremely simple — as soon as you take a picture or record a video on your phone, it will automatically be sent to the cloud, without taking up paid space. All files will be placed in a special folder that the system will determine itself.
The auto-upload function works imperceptibly, in the background, and is available to owners of Mail Space tariffs from 256 GB. It is important to understand that only those files that the service itself takes from the phone are uploaded for free. If you decide to add photos or videos from your computer manually, they will be considered as regular content and take up space in the cloud.
To start using the new function, simply enable it in the application settings when you first start it. Later, you can disable it or reactivate auto-upload at your discretion. The service supports all modern Android and iOS phones.
Auto-upload works very economically — it takes into account the battery charge and Wi-Fi connection so as not to waste user traffic. Files are sent to the cloud only when the phone is connected to the network and charged.
According to the developers, the new function is designed to solve the main problem of cloud storage users — limited space. Now you don’t have to worry about how much space family photos and videos take up, because they will be stored in the cloud for free and without restrictions.
