Iskander OTRK Confirmed to Overcome Even Echeloned Air Defense Systems

The range of the Russian complex is up to 500 km

The Russian Iskander operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) has proven capable of overcoming even the most echeloned air defense system (ADS). This was stated by Alexander Stepanov, a senior researcher at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Iskander-M is used to destroy enemy air defense systems, as well as other critical objects at a maximum range of up to 500 km.

At a speed of about 950–1150 m/s, the warhead of the Iskander-M can penetrate into soft ground by tens of meters. When it hits a building, the missile is capable of penetrating concrete floor slabs and exploding inside the protected room.
