Car dealers in Russia continue to sell cars with significant discounts, often below market value, according to Evgeny Zhitnukhin, Commercial Director of the Fresh automotive marketplace.
This process is related to the liquidation of excess inventory. It is expected that after their reduction, discounts on cars will significantly decrease, which will lead to higher prices and lower consumer demand.
The main source of such discounts is Chinese brands, which are selling off outdated models. Discounts range from 5 to 10%, but in some cases, they reach 20%. However, these discounts are often offered only when applying for a loan, which can significantly increase the final purchase price.
Zhitnukhin recommends that buyers look for выгодные offers by contacting official dealers, checking marketplaces, visiting car dealerships, and actively bargaining. However, he warned that such promotions are unlikely to last long, as Chinese manufacturers have already begun to reduce supplies, which will also limit the number of cars being sold.
According to Alexey Podshchekoldin, head of the "Russian Automotive Dealers" association, car inventories in Russia continue to grow, in particular, car dealers have more than 800,000 cars in stock, which is twice as much as last year.
