He recalled that in March, the Superjet with the PD-8 made its first flight, and the aircraft was transferred to the aircraft factory in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, where the engine is being installed under the wing.

The second aircraft is already being prepared for flight, with the flight scheduled for the end of April — beginning of May. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is expecting the third aircraft with this engine, Alikhanov noted.

By the end of the year, our task is to fully complete these tests, and already next year we will begin at the beginning of the year deliveries of our Superjets with the new PD-8 engine.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov noted in early April that there are currently 20 SJ-100 aircraft in various stages of readiness.

Earlier www1.ru reported that UEC for the first time showed welding of aircraft engine parts using friction technology. This method reduces weight and increases the service life of power plants.
