"You have to pay for housing and communal services in Uryupinsk": collectors demand payment for utilities at fictitious addresses

Russians are receiving bills for utilities in villages and cities they have never been to

Residents of Russia are massively complaining about calls on behalf of the Rosdolg collection agency, which demands repayment of non-existent debts for housing to which they have no relation.

According to SHOT, the company acts on behalf of allegedly communal services and is engaged in "collecting" debts, which, according to the victims, are literally made up on the spot.

On behalf of the agency, unknown persons call citizens, introducing themselves as debt collectors for housing and communal services. The amount of claims can reach 150 thousand rubles. At the same time, the addresses where subscribers have never lived are called as objects of debt. Sometimes old registration places coincide, but more often these are completely random or fictitious apartments in other regions of the country.

Methods of influence include not only telephone calls, but also sending "payment orders" and pre-trial claims by mail. For example, one of the Muscovites was billed for garbage disposal in the village of Bashmakovo - despite the fact that she does not even know where it is located. Another resident of the capital received a notification about a debt for utilities in Uryupinsk, with which he is also not connected in any way.

According to the victims, the pressure is accompanied by aggressive rhetoric, judicial threats and insults. People facing such extortion attempts find themselves in a stressful situation, not understanding how to protect themselves from unfounded accusations and imposed debts.
