The "Honest Sign" marking system, developed by CRPT with the help of Rostec, blocked over 447 million illegal goods at the cash desks of Russian stores from January 1 to April 15, 2025.
The "Honest Sign" operates on the principle that goods can only be sold with a special permit. Each product undergoes a mandatory check at the cash desk, and if violations are detected, the sale is blocked. In the first three months of 2025, it was possible to prevent the sale of: 77 million tobacco products, 50 million liters of alcohol, 107 million units of dairy products, and 19 million bottles of water.
The leader in blocked goods was the Volga Federal District with 87 million counterfeit products, followed by the Central Federal District with 77 million, and the third was the Northwestern Federal District with 32 million.
The main reasons for blocking products are expired shelf life, lack of necessary documents for the introduction of goods into circulation, attempts to reuse legal codes on counterfeits, and incorrect cryptographic codes indicating fakes.
In 2024, thanks to the "Honest Sign", 477 million illegal goods were blocked. The system, launched in 2019, successfully cleans up the market and protects consumers thanks to the cooperation of CRPT with Rospotrebnadzor. Experts note that the introduction of marking has significantly reduced the volume of illegal trade in goods in Russia and increased consumer confidence in product quality.
