The first footage of the modernized BMD-4M airborne assault vehicle from "High-Precision Systems" (part of Rostec) has appeared online. The vehicle is equipped with a passive protection kit based on spaced armor, including an anti-cumulative "visor", an anti-cumulative grid, and side armor plates.
Nevertheless, the BMD-4M lacks the "Relikt" and "Kaktus" dynamic protection kits, which provide protection against monoblock cumulative warheads of PG-7VS and PG-7VL rocket-propelled grenades. Protection against fragmentation effects is present.
The combat vehicle is armed with a 30 mm automatic cannon, a 100 mm cannon, and a 7.62 mm machine gun. The crew and landing force consist of 3 crew members and 7 paratroopers with full equipment.
A special feature of the vehicle is its hydropneumatic suspension with adjustable ground clearance from 100 to 500 mm. The BMD-4M has high maneuverability and is effective in any landscape.
