Footage of Russian Geran kamikaze drones with new striking elements has appeared online, according to the Telegram channel Oboronka.
Combat drones have begun to be equipped with additional explosive elements. They look like elongated tubes. Their principle of operation is still unknown, as opinions vary.
For example, according to one version, the "tubes" detonate after a certain time, and according to another, when trying to pick them up.
It is also unknown whether the Gerans scatter them in flight or whether they fall out of the hull upon impact.
Characteristics of the Geran UAV:
- Length - 3.5 m
- Wingspan - 2.5 m
- Flight altitude - from 60 to 4000 m
- Ammunition weight - 90 kg
- Speed - 150-180 km/h
- Loitering duration - 10-12 h
