Два поезда на водородном топливе создадут в 2026 году

The project will also launch a DІ2D series diesel train and ES105S electric locomotives

The first two hydrogen-powered trains for suburban transportation in Sakhalin will be produced in 2026, according to Ivan Kolesnikov, Deputy General Director of Russian Railways.

Together with TMH, we are actively developing a hydrogen-powered train for suburban services on Sakhalin Island and several other regions. The first two trains are scheduled to be manufactured next year.

As part of this project, Russian Railways also plans to launch a DІ2D series diesel train, which will be an optimal solution for suburban routes with autonomous traction. The holding also announced the launch of new dual-system electric locomotives with a Russian traction system of the ES105S series.

The work on creating a passenger train on hydrogen fuel cells is carried out within the framework of an agreement between Russian Railways, TMH, Rosatom, and the government of the Sakhalin Region, signed in 2019.

Currently, TMH is actively developing a hydrogen train with a range of 435 km on hydrogen and 40 km on batteries. The maximum capacity of the train varies from 551 to 875 people, depending on the configuration. Inside, everything necessary for passenger comfort will be provided, including amenities for people with limited mobility.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Transmashholding (TMH) presented the concept of a hydrogen train.
