"Rosseti" Implemented New Digital Solutions at the "Nadym" Substation

Reliability of Power Facilities in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Will Be Increased

PJSC "Rosseti" has modernized the 220 kV "Nadym" substation in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which provides electricity to Salekhard, the Priuralsky and Nadym districts. Specialists have installed optical current transformers and digital voltage transformers, which increases the accuracy of measurements and reduces maintenance costs through remote monitoring. This was reported by the press service of "Rosseti" company.

The implemented solutions will potentially improve the reliability of power facilities. Unlike electromagnetic ones, optical and electronic measuring transformers make it possible to receive data immediately in digital form. In addition, optical ones have smaller weight and size indicators - they weigh 5-10 times less than traditional analogues

More than 60 units of new equipment have appeared at the substation, including modern gas-insulated circuit breakers. The supplied equipment is highly reliable and efficient, as well as increased safety in the event of an explosion or fire.

"Rosseti" is developing the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, providing electricity to new mining industries. The region produces more than 80% of Russian gas - this is a fifth of world production.

In 2024, energy specialists carried out work to update equipment at substations operating at a voltage of 220–500 kV. This made it possible to increase the capacity that oil and gas enterprises located in the east of the YaNAO can receive. Transit lines providing energy to the Yamburgskoye field were also modernized. Work is currently underway to create a power line, which will increase the level of reliability of power supply in Salekhard.
