The widespread rumors online that the Emergencies Ministry will punish vacationers for grilling barbecue by monitoring the territory with drones have turned out to be false. Fines are only provided for violations of fire safety rules.
According to lawyer Maria Sviridova, reports of fines for grilling barbecue are written only to attract attention. In fact, fines are only related to open fires on plots.
In the summer, a ban on open fires is often introduced in drought conditions.
State Duma deputy Nikita Chaplin also stated that vacationers can be fined for violating fire safety standards. However, there is no data that the Emergencies Ministry will use drones to monitor whether people are grilling barbecue.
According to Chaplin, the issue of the legality of using drones to monitor private plots requires separate consideration.
