AI-powered platform for patient medical data may be created in Russia

The Federation Council proposed creating an AI platform for the secure analysis of anonymized patient data

The Federation Council has proposed the creation of a specialized digital platform for working with anonymized medical data.

The system will ensure the secure storage of information and access to it only by certified developers, which will allow the use of artificial intelligence for analysis without the risk of personal data leaks.

AI is actively used in diagnostics and personalized treatment, but the growth of technological dependence requires increased protection of patient privacy. One solution could be an automatic consent mechanism for the transfer of anonymized data, in which citizens will be informed about the purposes of its use.

To minimize risks, it is proposed to introduce strict regulatory control, including access audits and publication of aggregated statistics without personal identifiers. The platform can be tested within an experimental legal regime to assess the effectiveness of security measures and adapt them to the needs of medicine.
