New narrow-gauge diesel locomotive developed at "Engineering Service – Putmash"

Rolling stock is designed for transporting people and goods in mines and tunnels

"Engineering Service – Putmash" presented a new diesel locomotive designed for transporting people and goods in tunnels and mines. This was reported in the company's press service.

The development of the rolling stock took one year. The diesel locomotive was created as an alternative to imported counterparts, with an emphasis on compact dimensions for passing curves of small radii and narrow tunnels.

Russian Railways has already received six such diesel locomotives, and they have passed a full range of tests. For these purposes, the company laid 100 meters of track with a gauge of 900 mm.

The diesel locomotive consists of four wagons — a traction wagon, a passenger wagon (accommodating 18 people), and two freight wagons. The total carrying capacity is 15 tons, and the design speed is 25 km/h. The diesel locomotive is equipped with a YaMZ diesel engine with a power of 15 kW and has a completely Russian configuration.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the new grain carrier of the OVK company will soon appear on the market.
