New device converts electromagnetic waves with minimal energy loss

At the National Research University "MPEI", an innovative waveguide adapter has been developed to improve the efficiency of 5G communication and satellite equipment operating at high frequencies. This was reported by the university's press service.

Our scientists have managed to create a unique waveguide transition design that provides high performance for microwave devices and relies on advanced developments in domestic science. The developed unit is designed to integrate new waveguide technology into the devices of the radio-electronic industry of the Russian Federation.
Nikolay Rogalev, Rector of NRU "MPEI"

The new adapter allows for the efficient conversion of electromagnetic waves with minimal energy loss.

The technology will find application in telecommunications, robotics, and space.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the first Russian-made 5G base stations were included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
