The Russian Superjet aircraft with PD-8 engines climbed to an altitude 2.5 times greater than the previous flight's indicator during the second test flight; the flight lasted 2 hours and 4 minutes. This was reported by the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).

The engine operation at an altitude of 7,600 meters was checked. The engines were shut down and successfully started in the air, which is one of the important stages of testing.

On Monday, an experienced Superjet SJ-100 aircraft with domestic PD-8 engines made its first flight.

Rostec noted that the first flight took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur with a crew consisting of test pilots Igor Grevtsev, Dmitry Demenev, and flight operator Maxim Gryukanov. The plane was in the air for about 40 minutes, reaching an altitude of up to 3,000 m and a speed of 500 km/h.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the new SJ-100 airliner became completely Russian, receiving 100% domestic components.
