The audience of dating services in Russia continues to increase. In February 2025, the number of users over 18 years old in such services reached 8 million, according to Mediascope Cross Web.

The Drug Vokrug dating service attracted 1.9 million users, and Mamba — 1.5 million. Other platforms, such as Tabor and «Фотострана» are also showing an increase in the number of users. At the same time, VK holding reports that only 5.4 million users are registered on their platforms «VK Знакомства» and «ОК Знакомства». These two sites are not included in the Mediascope calculations, which raises questions about the accuracy of the statistics.

VK claims that their audience has grown by 42% over the year, thanks to improved recommendation algorithms and the launch of new features. «ОК Знакомства», launched in January 2023, has already attracted more than 1 million users.

Some market participants, such as Andrey Bronetsky, CEO of Mamba, dispute these data, claiming that their figures are actually 2.2 million, not 1.5 million, as calculated by Mediascope.

Skepticism also concerns the assessment of the VK audience. Expert Veronika Yakovleva from Twinby suggests that the holding's data may be overestimated, since the statistics probably take into account inactive users. In addition, spam profiles may be registered in the service.

Independent IT expert Sergey Vilyanov spoke about the reduction in the audience of old major players who could not adapt to the new conditions. New services, such as Twinby and Teamo, continue to gain popularity among young people.

Thus, the dating market in Russia is showing growth, but the accuracy of the data and the quality of users remain in question.
