The audience of dating services in Russia continues to increase. In February 2025, the number of users over 18 in such services reached 8 million, according to Mediascope Cross Web.
The dating service "Drug vokrug" attracted 1.9 million users, and Mamba — 1.5 million. Other platforms, such as Tabor and "Fotostrana," are also showing growth in the number of users. At the same time, VK holding reports that their platforms "VK Dating" and "OK Dating" alone have 5.4 million registered users. These two sites are not included in Mediascope's calculations, which raises questions about the accuracy of the statistics.
VK claims that their audience has grown by 42% in a year, thanks to improved recommendation algorithms and the launch of new features. "OK Dating," launched in January 2023, has already attracted more than 1 million users.
Some market participants, such as Mamba CEO Andrey Bronetsky, dispute these data, claiming that their figures are actually 2.2 million, not 1.5 million, as calculated by Mediascope.
Skepticism also concerns the assessment of the VK audience. Expert Veronika Yakovleva from Twinby suggests that the holding's data may be overestimated, as the statistics likely include inactive users. In addition, spam profiles may be registered in the service.
Independent IT expert Sergey Vilyanov spoke about the reduction in the audience of old major players who could not adapt to the new conditions. New services, such as Twinby and Teamo, continue to gain popularity among young people.
Thus, the dating market in Russia is showing growth, but the accuracy of the data and the quality of users remain in question.
