Kamikaze Drones to Receive Satellite Communication: Innovative Platform Being Developed in Russia

The system will be operational in 2028

A platform for data exchange between unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and satellites will be developed in Russia. This was reported by the Foundation for Supporting Projects of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).

The planned flight altitude for small satellites is 100-200 km, and for drones, it is 20-30 km. The data exchange platform between them is expected to be operational by 2028.

They, in turn, will be able to transmit data to commercial services, drones, and operators.

The platform will provide wireless internet connectivity in remote areas, solve high-quality remote sensing tasks, and accelerate the development of private astronautics and new service markets in Russia, according to the organizers.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian combat FPV systems have been declared the standard for the entire world.
