The Association of Developers in the field of Electronics and Software (ARPE) has appealed to the government to support Russian companies if foreign brands return to the Russian market.
The letter to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Mikhail Mishustin, proposes:
- Introduce a 30% duty on imported electronic equipment.
- Prohibit foreign brands from participating in government procurement and using their products in important state systems.
- Establish requirements for foreign companies not to comply with Western sanctions, and also require them to restore support for previously supplied equipment.
- Mark the products of companies that supported the sanctions with special signs, as is done with cigarettes.
- Support independent imports and limit the rights of foreign manufacturers to determine supply channels to Russia.
- Change the software requirements for critical systems in accordance with Russian standards.
ARPE noted that foreign companies have begun actively searching for their former employees, many of whom now work in Russian firms. The Association believes that the return of foreign brands could devalue investments made in Russia in 2022-2025 and negatively affect production.
