В МВД России выступили против введения штрафов за превышение средней скорости на дорогах

The position of law enforcement agencies on this issue remains unchanged

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has opposed the introduction of fines for exceeding the average speed on road sections, said Irina Volk, an official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

She explained that the ministry had previously expressed its fundamental disagreement with such measures and that this position remains unchanged. Volk added that information about the possible introduction of fines, which appeared in some Telegram channels and the media, has no basis.

The day before, First Deputy Minister of Transport Valentin Ivanov said that the Ministry of Transport, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is considering the possibility of punishing drivers for exceeding the average speed between cameras. At the same time, the official added that the issue does not yet have specific solutions.

Earlier, some regions, such as the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and the Vologda Oblast, had expressed proposals to return fines for exceeding the average speed.
