Мошенники стали активнее красть аккаунты россиян в Telegram

The cost of a stolen account on the black market has risen to 160 rubles

The second half of 2024 has become a record-breaking period for internet scammers involved in stealing Telegram accounts. According to F6, the number of stolen accounts increased by 25.5% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 1.2 million.

On the black market, the cost of a stolen account registered to a Russian number has risen to 160 rubles. This is 6% more than at the beginning of the year.

One of the popular phishing schemes involves fake voting. Attackers invite users to vote for a candidate by clicking on a link that requires verification via Telegram. Scammers are increasingly using automated methods, turning account theft into an attack conveyor.

Information security experts have identified a new vulnerability in the Telegram API. It allows attackers to register accounts on purchased numbers and access them through active sessions. Scammers also create fake Wi-Fi networks.
