A planned test of alert systems will take place in all regions of Russia on March 5, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
On this day, the signal "Attention everyone!" will sound throughout the country. Sirens and loudspeakers will sound, and radio stations and TV channels will be replaced with special alerts.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations explained that such events are held to test the operability of alert systems and increase the readiness of duty services for possible emergencies.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations also urged citizens not to panic and remain calm during the test. Such checks are carried out twice a year, and the previous one took place on October 2, 2024.
In different regions, sirens and loudspeakers are turned on between 10 and 11 a.m. local time. In the Stavropol Territory, a comprehensive check will begin at 10:20 Moscow time, in Kabardino-Balkaria it will be held from 10:43 Moscow time to 10:44 Moscow time. In Udmurtia, sirens will be turned on at 10:40.
In addition, in December, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, said that intercoms would become part of the alert system. In some areas, such as Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod, they have already begun using intercoms to alert the public.
