In February of last year, "AGR Automotive Plant," located in St. Petersburg, the former Hyundai plant, began producing Solaris cars. These models were named HC, HS, KRS, and KRX, where the first letters denote the popular budget cars Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio, and Kia Rio X-Line, which were previously produced in Russia. The new brand reported on its work for the year.
In total, the brand produced over 26,000 Solaris cars. The HS entered the top three best-selling sedans in Russia in 2024, and the KRS received the title of "Car of the Year in Russia."
According to the company's press service, the localization of production has also been significantly increased. In particular, they began to use Russian steel more often and introduce domestic components and developments, such as the "ERA-GLONASS" system.
Solaris cars are now equipped with a new comprehensive ecosystem "Solaris. Digital Car," developed in Russia.
The plant completely abandoned technical support from foreign partners. Internal logistics processes were optimized, which made it possible to increase the autonomy of production. Cooperation with key Russian suppliers was also resumed, and new partners were attracted to guarantee the smooth operation of the enterprise.
The stable operation of the plant was made possible by the professionalism of its employees, many of whom have more than ten years of experience at the enterprise. The plant not only retained its best personnel but also launched a program to attract new specialists. This will increase the speed of the assembly line and implement plans to expand the production of Solaris cars.
In addition, 245 robots are involved in production processes. This level of automation ensures high-quality assembly, minimizes the influence of the human factor, and allows us to meet international quality standards and requirements for manufactured products.
Earlier in Russia, recommended retail prices for Solaris cars were changed. Now the cost of the HC Creta crossover is from 2,650,000 rubles, which is 140,000 rubles more than before.
