KMZ to Start Manufacturing Parts for Lada Cars

The market volume for these products will exceed 3 billion rubles per year

The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ), a military-industrial holding, will begin producing import-substituting parts for Lada cars.

As part of a federal project to develop design documentation for the automotive industry, KMZ will create a left engine mount cushion assembly and a rear suspension rod.

The total investment in the project exceeds 44 million rubles, and the development is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The new components are intended for the Lada Vesta family of cars: the left engine mount cushion secures the power unit to the body and subframe, and the rear suspension rod is also used in the car's design.

For testing, 40 prototypes will be produced, which will undergo bench tests and inspections as part of the car, confirming trouble-free operation for at least 155 hours. After successful tests, the parts will be put into mass production. The products will be developed exclusively using domestic materials and components. According to KMZ, the market for these components exceeds 3 billion rubles per year.
