Ростех передал партию серийных авиадвигателей ПД-14 для лайнеров МС-21

При работе над силовой установкой было внедрено 16 критических технологий

The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) has shipped a batch of serial PD-14 aircraft engines for installation on the import-substituted medium-range passenger aircraft of the new generation MC-21 for commercial operation.

Specifically for the PD-14, engineers manufactured hollow fan blades for the engine from the lightest titanium. In total, while working on the power plant, UEC designers developed and implemented 16 critical technologies: they created new materials, coatings, and structural solutions.

Rostec noted that the PD-14 was a breakthrough for domestic engine building. The unit became the first turbofan engine of this level produced in modern Russia.

This project involved leading Rostec enterprises, as well as dozens of organizations from related industries and scientific institutions. Today, our aircraft and engine manufacturers are doing everything possible to expedite the certification tests of the import-substituted MC-21. In addition, a reserve has been formed at aircraft factories for airframes, and the production of power plants and onboard electronics is underway. All this is necessary for the speedy launch of mass production of aircraft after the completion of all tests.

The state corporation added that, due to the tight deadlines, the assembly of serial aircraft, the development and production of components and onboard systems, as well as test flights of prototypes, are being carried out simultaneously.

Currently, only Russia, the USA, Great Britain, France, and China possess sufficient competencies for the full cycle of production of such engines, Rostec emphasized.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian PD-14 aircraft engines were put into production in 2024.
