Modernized Kornet anti-tank missile systems (ATGMs) will help organize an all-round defense if necessary. This was reported by the press service of the High-Precision Complexes holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation).
Connect several Kornet launchers to one remote control at once.
At the same time, the system automatically determines the type of equipment being observed - the equipment gives a hint whether it is an infantry fighting vehicle or a tank, or some wheeled vehicles. The target is captured, and the operator only has to press the "start" button.
The basic version of the ATGM missile is capable of penetrating up to 1000 millimeters of armor behind ERA. The ammunition is controlled by a laser beam.
Characteristics of the Kornet-E ATGM:
- Control system — semi-automatic, laser beam
- Firing range — up to 5500 m during the day and up to 4500 m at night
- Armor penetration — 1000-1200 mm
- Missile caliber — 152 mm
- Type of warhead — cumulative tandem and high-explosive
- Launcher weight — 26 kg
