A new bill aimed at combating telephone fraud will allow Russian citizens and foreigners to ban the registration of SIM cards without personal presence.
According to TASS, the document amends the law "On Communications" and introduces new rules allowing individuals to restrict the possibility of concluding contracts for the provision of communication services. This can be done through a personal account on the "Gosuslugi" portal or by personally visiting the MFC with an identity document. The ban can also be lifted only with a personal visit to the MFC.
In addition, the bill introduces a ban on the transfer of SIM cards to third parties.
