A crew of the "Pantsir-S1" anti-aircraft missile and gun system (ZRPK) in one instance on the line of combat engagement destroyed 16 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at once. This was reported by the crew commander with the call sign Shield.
We deployed in motion and engaged four targets, then took a position and engaged another eight. When the missile ammunition was depleted, I gave the command to reload. We reloaded another six missiles and engaged another four.
According to him, anti-aircraft gunners have to make decisions in fractions of a second. They are helped in this by complete mutual understanding, experience, and thorough knowledge of their system. The "Pantsir-S1" is capable of acquiring targets and launching missiles in just one and a half seconds.
There are no analogues to these anti-aircraft missile and gun systems in terms of reliability and characteristics. "Pantsir" entered service with the Russian army in 2012.
