The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has begun using sedans from the Chinese brand Kaiyi. The cars were spotted on the streets of Moscow.
The cars assembled in Kaliningrad received military license plates with the prefix "MO" — confirmation of belonging to the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff. The department chose the basic version of the Kaiyi E5 sedan.
Interest in this model remains low: only 6,000 cars were sold in 2024. Government purchases will help support production. The official price for the car starts from 2,115,000 rubles, but the sedan is available with discounts for 1.5 million rubles.
Experts believe that in the future Kaiyi will leave the Russian market – its place will be taken by models from Changan.
