Sheremetyevo Airport and the company "Airports of Regions" are developing a unique baggage check-in system. It allows passengers to do it themselves, as there is no need to stick paper tags on bags and suitcases.
People will be able to photograph their suitcases at home, receive electronic tags, and then simply leave their luggage in a special place at the airport. The system will use artificial intelligence and machine vision to monitor the movement of baggage at all stages. This will ensure its accurate delivery. The timing of the system's implementation is unknown.
Sheremetyevo is actively replacing critical information systems with domestic alternatives. At the end of 2024, eight software solutions out of 23 were replaced. Import substitution has improved the operation of the air harbor.
