Sberbank will cooperate with Chinese researchers in the field of AI. Reuters writes about this, citing Alexander Vidyakhin, a top manager of the bank. According to journalists, the decision confirms the desire of Russia and China to develop a “strategic partnership without borders”, including joint projects in the field of AI.

The top manager did not specify who the bank would cooperate with. He also did not disclose details, but noted that since the appearance of various models of the Chinese neural network DeepSeek, Sberbank has compared them with GigaChat MAX. The results showed that the Chinese model outperforms GigaChat in scientific tasks, and in the banking sector they are at a comparable level.
DeepSeek has demonstrated that even with limited resources, it is possible to achieve quality comparable to American samples, which calls into question the need for huge investments in the presence of engineering innovations.
