Relatives of patients who are admitted to the intensive care unit will be able to find out about the health status of patients using SMS notifications. The service has become available in all adult hospitals in Moscow that have switched to a digital model of record keeping.
Last summer, we launched a unique service through which relatives can find out about the patient's condition via daily SMS messages. <...> Now the service is available in all adult hospitals in Moscow.
Since the start of the project, about 120 thousand messages have been sent, containing brief information about the patient's condition and key indicators: blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiratory rate.
Messages about admission to the intensive care unit are automatically sent to the number indicated by the patient upon hospitalization. To connect to the SMS information service, relatives need to contact the doctor of the intensive care unit. The doctor will make a corresponding note in the unified medical information and analytical system.
Notifications will be sent daily in the morning until the patient is transferred to another department or discharged, after which the mailing is automatically terminated. The messages also indicate whether the patient is conscious, whether he is connected to a ventilator, and also assesses the dynamics of his recovery.
