Amson Elevator representative Zhou Zheng stated that Chinese businessmen inspected elevators in Vologda and Cherepovets. He emphasized that the equipment is old and needs to be replaced.

It is worth recalling that the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (the permanent supranational regulatory body of the EAEU) extended the service life of Russian elevators, which were to be replaced by February 15, 2025, until 2030. According to the technical regulations, elevators that have served for 25 years must be repaired or decommissioned. The Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation has estimated that 64,000 elevators need to be replaced in the next 5 years.
