Problems with the online service Steam are not related to plans to block it. This was stated by Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy. According to him, the authorities have no intention of closing access to the service.

Complaints about Steam's operation began to arrive on January 17 at 13:30 Moscow time. Over the past day, their number has reached approximately five thousand. Users reported problems with both the website and the mobile application.
Roskomnadzor stated that they were not involved in the problems that arose with the service. It was argued that the access problems were related to a failure in the Steam infrastructure.
Recall that in October last year, the popular messenger Discord was blocked in Russia. Since then, information has periodically appeared on the Web that Steam could allegedly be blocked following Discord.
