Footage of a new modification of the Russian self-propelled artillery gun (SPG) 2S43 "Malva" has appeared. The picture was published by the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (TsAST).
The self-propelled gun was photographed at the training ground of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy. The new version received the swinging part of the towed "Hyacinth-B" gun. At the same time, the first versions of "Malva" carried a gun that was installed on the "Msta-S" self-propelled gun.
TsAST emphasized that a new gun, which has a longer barrel and an increased range, was installed to combat modern Western artillery with a caliber of 155 mm.
The self-propelled gun is built on the BAZ-6910-027 wheeled chassis, providing high mobility of the installation. Its weight is 21 tons, and its carrying capacity is 19.41 tons. The 470 hp engine delivers a maximum speed of up to 80 km per hour.
