The Russian emergency alert system ERA-GLONASS continues to operate. According to JSC GLONASS, the equipment malfunctions associated with the global Runet failure did not affect their service.
The failures that occurred in the Runet's operation did not affect the operation of the state information system in any way. ERA-GLONASS operates stably throughout the Russian Federation. To date, more than 11.5 million vehicles are connected to ERA-GLONASS. During the system's operation, over 435 thousand calls from motorists required the response of rescuers to assist victims in road accidents.
On Tuesday, December 14, a serious failure occurred in the Russian segment of the Internet. Users reported that many sites did not open, both on home and mobile internet, in the .rf and .ru domain zones.
Due to malfunctions in the Runet, car sharing also stopped working. According to users of short-term car rental services, drivers had problems accessing the application, and allegedly even lost control of the car while driving. However, car-sharing services deny information that the global network failure affects the stopping of a rented car.
