According to the 2024 results, Russia has entered the top three leading naval powers according to the Naval Fleet Index, following the USA and China, according to an analysis by the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to experts, the United States holds the undisputed first place in the ranking with a share of 30% of the world's naval potential.
China comes in second with 14.2%, and Russia closes the top three with 7.6%. The top ten also include Japan, South Korea, Great Britain, North Korea, India, France, and Turkey.
The term Navy in this context characterizes all the forces and means of countries, the ability of the navy of each power to conduct combat operations at sea, based on their capabilities.
