The United States, China, and Russia Lead the Top Naval Powers

According to an analysis by the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia has entered the top three leading naval powers in 2024, according to the naval fleet index, following the United States and China.

According to experts, the United States holds the undisputed first place in the ranking with a 30% share of the world's naval potential.

China comes in second with 14.2%, and Russia closes the top three with 7.6%. The top ten also include Japan, South Korea, Great Britain, North Korea, India, France, and Turkey.

The term "naval fleet" in this context characterizes all the forces and means of countries, the ability of each power's naval fleet to conduct combat operations at sea, based on its capabilities.
